President’s Message:

We are fast approaching a new growing season and everyone is looking forward to our

Root Auction in April.  Many of our members have already volunteered to help with the Auction. It appears that we will have an ample supply of roots this year, in contrast to what we had last year. I believe this good supply is due to the ample rain we received throughout last year’s growing season.

Now is the time to unpack your roots to check them over and to take an inventory of them.  Please separate out those that you have an excess of and put them aside to donate to our Auction.  Remember that we want them labeled clearly and it would be helpful if you have time, to write the ADS Class Number on your varieties.  This will facilitate your sorting them into their respective bins when you arrive at the Auction as these bins will be labeled by size, formation and Class Numbers. Remember to repack your roots as you have had them stored after you take an inventory, as it is too early to leave them unprotected.

2007 Judge’s Refresher:

We have decided to hold this yearly required program on the date of our Picnic at the Wooten’s on July 22nd.  Jon always has a number of very impressive plants in bloom at this time and by having this program in conjunction with the Picnic we will not need to schedule it as a separate program during the very busy show season.  So will all of our judge’s please take note of this date.
