President’s Message:

Again we are indebted to Barbara and Jon Wooten for agreeing to host our Annual Picnic.  We look forward to their hospitality and being able to enjoy their beautiful gardens. A first this year is to hold our annual Judge’s Refresher on the same date.  This is because Jon has so many great blooms available on this early date and that fact enables us to schedule our judging program early before show time starts when all of our judges are so busy. We will again do scoring of various varieties to give our judges some practice.

The society will supply the hot dogs and hamburgers and you are encouraged to bring along your favorite dish to share.  Items that would be helpful are appetizers, salads and desserts. To help us help us coordinate these other dishes and also get a count of the attendance, please call: Barbara LaRochelle at: (860) 673-2886 or e-mail her at: andrebarbara@comcast.net  to offer your selection.

Judge’s Refresher Scheduled before the start of the Picnic:

All Connecticut Judges must attend a refresher course once every other year, continue to grow and exhibit virtually every year, judge in at least 8 ADS shows in 5 years and maintain their ADS membership.  For more on the current ADS Judging Requirements, see page 39 in the June 2007 Bulletin of the ADS. Any member who is interested is welcome to attend this part of the program, even though you are not yet a judge.
