Message
We
hope you will join us for our first meeting of 2004 on Saturday, January 10th. It would be marvelous to gather together as many
members as possible to work on generating new ideas and goals for the coming
year.
My
two key initial areas of development will be growing our society's membership,
and involving more of our members in the organization's activities. To do this we will need to work together to
develop our overall plans to embrace and educate our CDS members and other
lovers of dahlias throughout the State of

A
new slate of society officers has been presented for 2004. Please plan to
attend, vote and help us conclude this process at the upcoming meeting. A
quorum is needed for voting. Nominations

your (Acting) Editor…
All
right, so the email address is different and the return address on the envelope
is foreign. Just who prepared this
month's newsletter?
The
condensed version of the CDS monthly communication is being written by
I
joined CDS in 2003 with the hope of learning more about my beautiful dahlias. Dad
and I have been nurturing tubers for many years but in a very elementary
manner. I knew it was time to become
involved after hearing Kevin's presentation on the
topic at a FGCC Judge's Council meeting.
There's so much to learn.
Currently
I am President of the Connecticut Master Gardener's Association for the second
year, having served as Vice President for the two years prior. In this capacity
I have written the group's newsletter, The Laurel, for a few years as well
as writing weekly gardening articles over the last two
years for The
Other
associated active roles include Treasurer of the UCONN New Haven County
Extension Resource Council, Horticulture Therapy Chair for Guilford Garden Club,
and Student Judge of the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut.
