Approval of our Annual Budget
An exceptional winter
with almost no snow now follows the exceptionally rainy summer of 2006. What
will this growing season of 2007 bring us?
We have no control over the weather we just have to take what it gives
us. Dahlia growing seems to be a
puzzle; you never know how it will get put together but let us hope for a
banner year.
Our first Sunday
afternoon meeting, held in January seemed to work out well. Most of our regulars attended, but we are
looking for some of our members who have never attended our regular meetings to
attend. We would like your input at the
meetings and would like to know what help you might need with your dahlia
growing. We have a fairly good
state-wide distribution of members who regularly grow to exhibit who would be
willing to help you.
At this February
Meeting in addition to approving the Budget for 2007, we will have a display of
our albums that contain all of our 49 years worth of photos and newspaper
articles. In March, our meeting will be a planning meeting for our April 22nd.
Root Auction. The Auction will again as
in 2006, feature both a sales area and an auction format.
Most of the
commercial growers have their catalogs on-line now so check them out by linking
to them through our website.

in case of a possible meeting cancellation due to weather, please call me at
(203) 758-4685 or e-mail me after 10:00 am on the meeting date to find out the
status of the meeting.
