President's Message…

Our Dahlia roots are all divided and put away for a winter rest.  Now it's time for a little R&R for the "Dahlia Caretakers" and to get together for some holiday cheer.

The Christmas Party will be held this year at Joe Jasonis' home in Winsted.  Joe has graciously opened his home for our party and has volunteered to be our "Holiday Chef".  Joe is a great cook and always has something to tantalize our taste buds (like the great venison dish he brought to our July picnic!).  Joe will be preparing both a salmon and a beef entrée so we will need to know…

1.)   If you are attending

2.)   Your choice of entree

Please respond no later than December 13th.  You can leave a message at Joe Jasonis' (860) 379-6463, or my phone (203) 269-6943.

For those of you who would like to participate in a holiday grab bag, please bring along a gift priced in the five-dollar range - something that can be used by either a man or woman.  If the gift can be used in the garden it would be especially appreciated!  Who wouldn't like a couple of rolls of extra twine?

Directions to Joe's house are included.  Please give Joe a call with any questions that you may have.

We had an excellent turnout at our November Meeting.  A root division seminar was given and the 2005 officer nominations were accepted.  They are:

            Kevin Wasilewski                  President

            Marge Schnerr                      Vice President

            Donna Paternostro               Treasurer

            Barbara LaRochell                Secretary

            Becky R. Paul                        Editor

I would like to wish everyone a safe and joyous holiday season and hope to see all of you at the holiday gathering.

Sincerely,

Kevin Wasilewski

C.D.S. President
