President's Message…

Thank you to Jonathan and Barbara Wooten for such a beautiful setting for our annual picnic.  The fabulous gardens provided a wonderful environment for all to enjoy.  Of course the main highlight was the dahlia garden – all 500 hundred plants – most already in bloom!  Great food and good company rounded out the day.  Thanks also to Nick Paternostro for a superb job in running the auction.

It’s hard to believe our annual show is around the corner.  The show date is Saturday, August 27th at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford.  Our meeting will go over matters that need to be discussed.  Show set-up will be on Friday, August 26th.  Volunteers are always needed in setting up the show hall.  Please help if you can…the more hands, the faster the job is accomplished.

Also, for anyone interested there will be a demonstration on how to properly condition and transport your blooms to a show.  Too many times we see blooms that were improperly conditioned or damaged in transportation.

Please try to attend the meeting.  And, mark your calendars to help with the show set-up.

See you at the meeting…

Sincerely,

Kevin Wasilewski
